[ARCHIVED] Press Release May 19, 2020 Several arrests for Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act

Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith reported that his agency recently made several arrests for Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act along with additional charges for Parole and Weapons Violations.

“On May 4, 2020, our narcotics agents were working an undercover narcotics investigation in the 1000 block of Nebula Road, Manchester, Ga. related to the sale of illegal narcotics. During the course of the investigation it was discovered that the resident had an active fourth amendment waiver related to a previous arrest. Our narcotics investigators confirmed all related facts through the Department of Community Supervision. Our personnel conducted a waiver search of the residence and recovered illegal narcotics in Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act. Our narcotic investigators seized 1.6 grams of Methamphetamine along with 80 Schedule VI Xanax Pills. Our agents arrested Kenatius Javeer White, B/M, 38 years of age of Manchester, Ga. for the offenses of V.G.C.S.A. Possession of Methamphetamine and V.G.C.S.A. Possession of a Schedule IV Narcotic. White was transported to the Meriwether County Jail and he has since posted a $10,000.00 bond.

On May 4, 2020, our narcotics agents received reliable information that Kathryn Nichole Spiegel, W/F, 31 years of age of Warm Springs, Ga. was in possession of a large quantity of illegal narcotics. Additionally the information received was that Spiegal was distributing a portion of the illegal narcotics at the drive thru window at her place of employment located in the City Limits of Peachtree City, Ga. Our narcotics agents began working in concert with the Peachtree City P.D. and the Coweta County Narcotics Division as our personnel had received information that Spiegal was now mobile with the drugs. During the course of the investigation the Coweta County Narcotics Division spotted Spiegal’s vehicle within Coweta County and a lawful traffic stop was conducted by Coweta County S.O. A lawful search was performed on Spiegel’s vehicle in which illegal narcotics and drug related objects were located. Incident to arrest a search of Spiegel’s person was conducted and a large quantity of methamphetamine was recovered along with marijuana. A total of 25.5 grams of Methamphetamine was recovered along with 5.2 grams of Marijuana. Spiegal was transported to the Coweta County Jail and charged with the Offenses of V.G.C.S.A. Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Marijuana. Spiegel has since posted bond in excess of $12,000.00.

On May 6, 2020, our narcotics investigators after an extended undercover narcotics investigation into the sale of illegal drugs executed a search warrant at a residence located on Floyd Miles Road, Warm Springs, Ga. During the search warrant execution agents seized 18.2 grams of Methamphetamine from the interior and exterior of the residence. Our narcotic agents arrested Kevalin Dewane McGruder, B/M, 38 years of age of Warm Springs, Ga. and Pamela Anderson, W/F, 29 years of age, of Warm Springs, Ga.  Kevalin McGruder was charged with the offense of V.G.C.S.A. Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute. Pamela Anderson was charged with the offense of V.G.C.S.A. Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute. They were transported to the Meriwether County Jail. McGruder has posted bond in the amount of $10,000.00. Anderson has a $10,000.00 bond set on the charge, with a no bond on a Parole Violation hold.

On May 13, 2020, our narcotics agents, patrol deputies along with the Upson County Multi-Jurisdictional Narcotics Task Force conducted a traffic stop for a moving traffic violation on a black in color, Dodge Truck on Jones Mill Road near its intersection with Walnut Creek Road, Gay, Ga. Based on our undercover narcotic investigation there were indicators that illegal drugs were contained in the vehicle. Our K-9 “Sasha” was deployed in a free air sniff and gave a positive alert for the presence of illegal narcotics. A search of the vehicle was conducted in which 1.06 pounds of marijuana was recovered from within the vehicle along with a handgun. The marijuana was contained in vacuum sealed plastic bags. Agents also seized U.S. Currency in denominations consistent with the drug trade. Our agents arrested Lester Martin, B/M, 37 years of age, of Woodbury, Ga. Martin was charged with the offense of V.G.C.S.A. Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute. Additionally, Kadarin Smith B/M, 31 years of age of Woodbury, Ga. was arrested and charged with the offenses of V.G.C.S.A. Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Crimes. Martin and Smith were transported to the Meriwether County Jail and charged as stated. Both have since posted bonds in the amount of $20,000.00 each.

On May 14, 2020, our narcotics agents, patrol deputies along with the Upson County Multi-Jurisdictional Narcotics Task Force after conducting an undercover narcotics investigation executed a search warrant on a residence located in the 100 block of Lima Lane, Gay, Georgia. The search warrant execution resulted in the seizure of 3 pounds of Marijuana and U.S. Currency in denominations consistent with the drug trade. Our personnel arrested Justin Antonio Dunlap, B/M, 33 years of age, of Gay, Ga. and charged him with the offenses of V.G.C.S.A.  Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute and V.G.C.S.A. Sale of Marijuana. Also charged was Tiara Shante Arnold, B/F, 27 years of age of Gay, Ga. for the offense of V.G.C.S.A. Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute. Both were transported to the Meriwether County Jail and charged as stated. Dunlap posted bond in the amount of $15,000.00 and Arnold posted bond in the amount of $7,500.00.” Sheriff Chuck Smith said.

“I appreciate the work that our personnel along with task force members have done to get these drugs off our streets and out of our communities.” Sheriff Smith advised.
