[ARCHIVED] Sheriff Reports Drug and Weapons Arrests

Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith reported that his agency recently made several arrests for Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act and Weapons Violations.

 

“On June 4th, 2020, our narcotics agents, patrol deputies along with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Walker Avenue, Manchester, Ga. The search warrant execution was conducted as a result of an undercover narcotics investigation related to the sale of crack cocaine. During the search warrant execution narcotic agents located and seized 12.2 GGMS of crack cocaine, a handgun, and drug related objects related to the packaging and sale of illegal narcotics. Our narcotic agents arrested Norcus Breon Steed, B/M, 47 years of age, of Manchester, Ga. Steed was charged with the offenses of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, V.G.C.S.A. Sale of Crack Cocaine and V.G.C.S.A. Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute. Norcus Breon Steed was transported to the Meriwether County Jail and was charged as stated. Steed is currently being held without bond.

On June 4th, 2020, our narcotics agents, patrol deputies and narcotics agents with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office conducted a simultaneous execution of a second search warrant in the 100 block of James Street, Manchester, Ga. The search warrant execution was conducted as a result of an undercover narcotics investigation related to the sale of crack cocaine. During the search warrant execution narcotic agents located and seized a handgun, two long guns and U.S. Currency. Our narcotic agents arrested Elias Remone Tuck, B/M, 29 years of age, of Manchester, Ga. Tuck was charged with the offenses of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and V.G.C.S.A. Sale of Crack Cocaine. Elias Remone Tuck was transported to the Meriwether County Jail and was charged as stated. Tuck is currently being held without bond. This case is currently under further investigation related to the Criminal Street Gang Statue.” Sheriff Smith said.

“I appreciate the work that our personnel have put forth related to these undercover operations along with the assistance of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.” Sheriff Smith advised.

If news agencies do not have a waiver on file one can be obtained from this agency in accordance to O.C.G.A. 35-1-18.
