Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith reported that his agency recently made an arrest for the offenses of Rape, Aggravated Child Molestation, Child Molestation, and Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes.
“On June 29, 2020 around 11:45 am one of our deputies was patrolling a secluded dirt road in the south eastern portion of Meriwether Co
unty when he observed a pickup truck parked in the middle of the roadway. Our deputy activated his emergency lights on the patrol vehicle and made approach to the vehicle to check the status of the vehicle blocking the roadway. Upon approach to the vehicle the deputy observed an older W/M, slumped down in the driver’s seat with a small child in his lap. As the deputy made further approach he observed that the small female child was unclothed from the waist down. At that time our investigators were requested to respond to the scene. Our investigators began their investigation into this incident which included conducting forensic interviews with the child, execution of several search warrants, and interviews. Through the course of the investigation physical and testimonial evidence were obtained. The investigation led to the arrest of Willie Mark Prince, W/M, 67 years of age, of Warm Springs, Georgia for the offenses of Rape, Aggravated Child Molestation , Child Molestation and Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes, (2) counts. Willie Mark Prince is being held without bond in the Meriwether County Jail. This case investigation is still active and additional charges are pending.” Sheriff Chuck Smith said.
“I appreciate the work that our personnel have put in regarding this case investigation. I am thankful that our patrol deputy was on that road at the time which led to this incident being discovered that may otherwise not have occurred.” Sheriff Smith advised.
